Caveats and Perspectives on the Politics of Medicine

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

Greetings. Thank you for stopping by my blog, I am very grateful. I just wanted to take a moment and tackle a few points so you can better understand my points of view as you read my articles. My preference is to keep most of the political complaints isolated here so that my main articles can be as educational and solution-based as possible. Note that I have not listed references, therefore, this would be considered an opinion-based article.

Alright, let’s get into it then. First, I am not a doctor, but I am a clinical nutritionist with a master's (M.S.) degree in human nutrition with education and training under the functional model of medicine. Prior to entering the nutrition space, I had worked for 15 years within the conventional medical system as a laboratory scientist, specializing in cancer genetic testing.

More important, I was a cancer patient. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2007 and I was processed through the conventional medical system, using both surgery and chemotherapy as my treatment strategies. Knowing what I now know about cancer, if my body were to become cancerous today, as my primary treatment approach, I know that I would choose natural therapies, the guidance of a functional medicine physician, and I would attend an advanced retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza to handle the stress and emotional aspect.

I am very confident that my risk for developing cancer today is extremely low as a result of the healthy lifestyle choices that I make everyday. The reason that my body previously developed cancer is because I lived an extremely toxic lifestyle in my youth, especially chemically and emotionally speaking. To use more concise language, I experimented with too many recreational drugs, drank too much booze, and left a shit ton of emotional stress unchecked.

All perspectives, opinions, and articles within this blog are mine alone, and do not represent the views of any colleagues or fellow functional medicine practitioners. My experience with cancer is what guided me to a career in healthcare, working first in the conventional system, and now as an alternative practitioner and blog writer in the nutrition and wellness space. My opinions and insights originate from my first-hand experience with comparing and contrasting philosophies of the conventional and functional models of medicine, a journey in which started with my cancer diagnosis in 2007.

All of my articles are fully supported by research from the scientific databases. References are always included to empower you to continue doing your own research. If something I state is anecdotal or lacks sufficient scientific or clinical evidence, I will always make it clear that is the case. Likewise, if an article is more opinion-based, such as this one, I will make it clear from the outset.

Clearly some of you will have differing opinions and points of view than mine and that is perfect. I welcome all feedback and criticisms with open arms. The ability to have healthy debate, free speech, and to learn from each other’s wisdom and personal journey’s is what has historically made America a great place to live. It is absolutely essential and critical that we preserve this trend at all cost.

We are witnessing a health revolution. Everyday, more people are waking up, are realizing something is wrong with Big Medicine, and so they find alternative and more reliable sources of information. Everyday, people are breaking free from the life of chronic disease. On the flip side, for me, the revolution is happening too slowly and the folks at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder are being left behind, simply due to the fact that they cannot financially budget in alternative healthcare practices that may not be covered by insurance the same way that conventional healthcare is covered.

My greatest passion is to promote and educate about the use of functional medicine. Regarding chronic diseases which are of non-emergency status, I encourage and recommend that you explore and support the functional medicine practitioners in your area. My articles are always going to be focused around chronic conditions, not emergency situations.

Regarding emergencies, being processed through the conventional medical system is currently the only option for the average person. Besides, dealing with emergencies is generally where the conventional system excels. So if you break your leg, get shot, or have a heart attack, don't waste time searching for a functional practitioner. Just hurry and get to the hospital and hope that you get a phenomenal emergency clinical team.

Let’s take a moment and think about a fire department’s response to a house fire. When a house is on fire, does the fire department gently pat out the fire so as not to destroy any property along the way? Absolutely not, they do everything possible to save lives and get that fire out—break windows, break walls, dump many thousands of gallons of water all over the house, and so on. Often, the house is destroyed, not just by the fire, but also by the response of the fire fighters. In this analogy, the house is your body and the fire department is the conventional medical team. Now this approach is relatively acceptable in a life or death scenario, but for slow-growing chronic diseases caused mostly by lifestyle factors, this approach is a failure.

Functional medicine is the future of medicine for chronic disease and is a template for what the medical system should look like today but does not because of political infiltration and the straight up corruption of the scientific method. This blog was inspired by my hopes and dreams that enough people will become educated around functional medicine, resulting in a grass roots movement to overhaul the current conventional medical system. The only way that functional medicine will become the gold standard of medicine is if the masses demand it, and people cannot demand what people are unaware of.

The probability that you will get to the root cause of your chronic illness with your physician's guidance is much higher with the use of functional medicine than it is with conventional medicine. Conventional medicine does not perform root cause analysis and, generally speaking, does not sufficiently educate people on the importance of lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise.

The reason for this is that the medical system has become completely dominated by the dictate of pharmaceutical companies (aka Big Pharma--Big Biotech). The pharmaceutical system has a very long history and reputation for prioritizing profits for investors over the well-being of people. Nothing has illustrated this more clearly in our current times than the recent C-19 debacle and ongoing medical experiment using messenger-RNA gene altering technology, without proper short-term or long-term safety testing. My heart goes out to the millions that have been harmed and killed by this medical experimentation. These people were simply trying to do the right thing, were never given any degree of informed consent, and were lied to regarding safety and efficacy of the jab.

In my articles, there may be times that my demeanor seems a tad harsh or condescending toward conventional doctors, but I am not attacking the doctors at the individual level. I have worked with many conventional doctors over the years, and I see that most of them believe they are doing the right thing. They are doing what they were taught to do and are following the philosophies they believe are valid and true.

The C-19 pandemic has clearly revealed some of these very passionate and wonderful conventional practitioners that are willing to stand up against the corrupted policy makers and the tyranny of Big Pharma, for example, Dr. R Malone, Dr. P McCullough, America's Frontline Doctors (and Nurses), the FLCCC Alliance, doctors and scientists of the Great Barrington Declaration, among many others.

When I speak out against the conventional system, it is more of an ambush on the multiple systems that are running conventional medicine, starting at the level of economics and politics, which then trickles down through the web of systems, most notably the educational system. Put another way, Big Pharma--Big Biotech are the biggest political lobby in the world and they make up a massive sector within the stock market.

Big Pharma has woven financial connections to all individuals and entities necessary, allowing them to have unrestrained power and control over the medical system. These individuals and entities include elected politicians, unelected bureaucrats (shout out to Fauci and other NIH, CDC, FDA, and WHO officials), individuals within the educational and healthcare insurance systems, as well as every mainstream media outlet.

Big Pharma has literally purchased their way to full control over what a medical student learns in school, that pharmaceuticals are our only hope. Fortunately, over time and experience, some doctors break away from the brainwashing and realize that this system does not work. They see that their patient’s are getting sicker, not healthier, and so they seek alternative education in integrative or functional medicine programs.

I am not 100% against pharmaceutical interventions (90~95% may be more realistic). I do believe that they are sometimes necessary, helpful, and even life-saving, especially in acute medical situations. On the other hand, long-term and often life-time use of a prescription drug for a chronic disease, which today is the norm, is almost always completely unnecessary.

I look forward to seeing you out there in the world of functional medicine, using alternative modalities--quality nutrition and supplementation; weight-lifting and cardio exercises; yoga and pilates; and of course chiropractic, acupuncture, and meditation--in maintaining the most powerful version of yourself. Salud!
